I have now blocked out the hands of my model.
To create fingers, I began with one cylinder, reshaped it to the rough dimensions of the fore finger and then duplicated, repositioned, and resised it appropriately for the other fingers.
Need to come back to the hands later to refine the knuckles and nails.
